Charlie
Mangold
is owner and creative director of Mangold Music Productions, a state-of-the-art
64-track, 24 bit digital recording facility in Greenwich, Connecticut.
He
is an accomplished writer, arranger and producer, a fifteen year veteran
of the music business, and graduate of The New England Conservatory
of Music, with a bachelor's degree in Jazz composition.
Charlie collaborates extensively with (among others) legendary producer Phil Ramone (Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, etc.). He also works regularly with Grammy winner Frank Filipetti (Korn, James Taylor). Charlie has written with or performed with Sheryl Crow, Sinead O’Connor, and Chaka Kahn, to name just a few, and was an oft published songwriter for Geffen Music. Recently Charlie has produced tracks for Rod Stewart, Cecilia (Atlantic Records), and is developing an act for Virgin Records UK. He has just finished scoring the film “Scene Stealers”, now appearing in the Lake Placid Film Festival.
Having co-produced his first record, “Charlies Dilemma”, with Phil Ramone, and his second album, “I Hate Myself” with Frank Filipetti, Charlie then went on, himself, to produce the eclectic “Colon”. He has also recently released "Special Day," an award-winning kids-music album.
As a pop producer, Charlie's strength is his deep understanding of genres. His ability to play almost any instrument and accompanying sense of how to orchestrate these various styles of music set him apart from typical producer/programmers. Charlie’s combination of musicality and technical savvy is rare and essential in an age where affordable digital technology is often seen as an adequate substitute for musical talent.
